Monciak, or Bohaterów Monte Cassino Street, is the most famous promenade in Sopot and one of the most distinctive places on the Polish coast. It leads towards Friends of Sopot Square (Plac Przyjaciół Sopotu), the Spa House (Dom Zdrojowy) and the pier. By day it is a place for strolling and shopping; in the evening – for restaurants, cafés and music.

“Monciak” is the colloquial, affectionate nickname for Bohaterów Monte Cassino Street. The name has caught on so strongly that both locals and tourists use it – and if you type “Monciak” into your navigation, you will end up exactly where you need to be.
