Sopot in October shows a completely different face than in the summer holidays. The beach empties, the pier regains its calm, and golden autumn begins in the forests above the town. It is a good month for anyone who wants to relax by the sea without crowds, queues or rush. Here is how to plan your October stay.

Why come in October?
- Peace and quiet – after the season it is easier to get a table in a restaurant, a seat in a café and a quiet walk on the beach.
- Easier booking – even shortly before arrival it is easier to find an available room, including at weekends.
- Autumn colours – the forests of the Tricity Landscape Park begin just beyond the town centre.
- The sea in a new light – autumn storms and changing skies are a sight that attracts photographers.
What to do in Sopot in October?
A walk on the pier and the beach
In autumn, the pier is much quieter than in summer. It is best to go there in the morning or late afternoon, when the light is warmest. After your walk, stroll along the beach towards Gdynia or Gdańsk – in autumn you can walk several kilometres and meet only a handful of other walkers.
Golden autumn in the forest
From the centre of Sopot you can reach the forest trails around the Forest Opera (Opera Leśna) in just over ten minutes on foot. October is one of the most beautiful times for such hikes – the beeches and oaks change colour, and the paths are almost empty.
Culture and museums
When the weather is not on your side, plan a day in the museums of the Tricity. From Sopot you can quickly reach Gdańsk and Gdynia by SKM commuter train – you will find a ready-made plan in our article The Tricity in 3 Days.
Warming cuisine
Autumn evenings are perfect for aromatic, warming dishes. At the hotel’s Thai Thai restaurant, you can try Thai curries and soups prepared by chefs from Thailand. For tips on what to order, see our article Thai Cuisine in Sopot.
A sauna after your walk
After a day in the wind, nothing warms you up like a sauna. Bayjonn Hotel guests use the sauna and small fitness room free of charge, and receive a separate access card for each visit, so they have them all to themselves.
A plan for an October weekend
- Friday – arrival (check-in from 15:00), an evening stroll along Monciak (Monte Cassino Street) and dinner.
- Saturday – breakfast (7:00–10:30), a walk on the pier, the forest and a viewpoint, the sauna in the afternoon and a Thai dinner in the evening.
- Sunday – a morning walk on the beach, coffee in the centre and check-out by 11:00.

How to prepare?
- Pack clothes you can layer, a windproof jacket and comfortable, waterproof shoes – the weather by the sea changes quickly.
- Remember that the clocks go back to winter time on the last weekend of October, and the days are getting shorter. Plan your walks for earlier in the day.
- If you are coming by car, book a space in the hotel garage together with your room.
