Wondering what to see in Sopot? It is a small town, but it has so many historic sights, walking routes and seaside attractions that they will easily fill several days. Most of the key places lie within a 10–15-minute walk of the centre – and therefore also of Bayjonn Hotel Sopot, which stands just about 250 m from the pier and 200 m from the beach.

Below you will find a list of 12 places worth seeing in Sopot – whether you are coming in summer or off-season.

1. Sopot Pier

The town’s most famous symbol and the longest wooden pier in Europe. A walk to its end is a must on every visit – from the pier you can see a panorama of the Bay of Gdańsk and, when visibility is good, even Gdynia and Hel. You will find more practical information in our guide Sopot Pier – what to know.

2. Monciak, or Bohaterów Monte Cassino Street

Sopot’s main promenade, full of cafés, restaurants and boutiques. Our hotel has direct access to Monciak, so your evening stroll starts literally outside the door. We write about what the promenade has to offer in our article Monciak in Sopot – a guide to the promenade.

3. The Crooked House (Krzywy Domek)

One of the most photographed buildings in Poland. Its “melting” facade stands on Monciak, and inside there are restaurants, cafés and shops.

4. Friends of Sopot Square and the Spa House

The heart of the resort, at the end of Monciak. The Spa House (Dom Zdrojowy) reflects the town’s spa tradition, and next to it stands the Sopot lighthouse. Many of our rooms in the centre of Sopot look out onto exactly this spot.

5. The beach and the seaside boulevard

A wide, sandy beach stretches along the whole town. Running alongside it is a pedestrian and cycle path that takes you to Gdańsk in one direction and towards Gdynia in the other.

6. The Forest Opera (Opera Leśna)

An amphitheatre set among the trees, famous for its concerts and festivals. Even when there are no events on, it is worth walking there along the forest paths.

7. The Grand Hotel and the North Park

The historic Grand Hotel by the beach is one of the resort’s most recognisable buildings. To the north of it stretches a park that is ideal for a leisurely stroll.

8. The South Park

A green belt heading towards Gdańsk – a good place for a morning jog or a walk with children.

9. St George’s Church

A neo-Gothic church on Monciak that stands out against the seaside architecture.

10. The Sopot Museum

The museum is housed in a former villa by the beach and tells the story of the resort and its residents – a good option for a rainy day.

11. The Hippodrome and Ergo Arena

Sports lovers will find a horse-racing track in Sopot, as well as a large entertainment and sports arena on the border with Gdańsk.

12. The forests of the Tricity Landscape Park

Just a few minutes from the beach, wooded hills begin, with viewpoints and hiking and cycling trails. On a longer stay, you can take advantage of a special offer on electric bike hire – details in our special offers.
