How to get to Sopot so that you can enjoy the sea from day one instead of looking for a parking space? Sopot lies right in the middle of the Tricity, between Gdańsk and Gdynia, so getting here is easy whether you are flying in, arriving by train or coming by car. We have gathered the most important tips for guests travelling to Bayjonn Hotel at ul. Powstańców Warszawy 7.

Transfer from Gdańsk airport to Bayjonn Hotel in Sopot

By plane – from Gdańsk airport to Sopot

The nearest airport is Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport. From the airport to the centre of Sopot, you have several convenient options.

Hotel transfer

The most convenient option, especially with luggage or after a late arrival. The driver waits for you in the arrivals hall with a sign reading “Hotel Bayjonn” and your name, and then drives you right to the hotel door. For guests who wish to travel in a higher standard, we have also prepared a transfer by premium car with a driver. You can book the transfer at reception, and you will find current prices on our additional services page.

Taxi or ride-hailing app

Taxi ranks are located by the terminal. The journey time to Sopot depends on traffic – it is usually about half an hour.

Train with a change

Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway (PKM) trains run from the airport. They take you to Gdańsk Wrzeszcz station, where you change to the SKM commuter train towards Gdynia and get off at Sopot station. This is the cheapest option, good if you are travelling light.

By train – the station in the centre of Sopot

Sopot station is in the town centre, not far from Monciak (Monte Cassino Street). Some long-distance trains stop directly in Sopot. If your train only goes to Gdańsk Główny or Gdynia Główna, change to the SKM – from Gdańsk Główny you can reach Sopot in about 20 minutes, and from Gdynia in just over ten minutes.

From the station, you can walk to the hotel through the centre. With more luggage, it is more convenient to take a taxi from outside the station – it is a short ride.

By car – getting here and parking

The A1 motorway and the S7 expressway lead to the Tricity. Once in the area, the most convenient route is the Tricity Ring Road (Obwodnica Trójmiejska), leaving for Sopot as signposted. Before you set off, check current traffic disruptions in your navigation app – on summer weekends and during major events, traffic in the Tricity can be heavy.

Where to park?

  • Hotel garage – Bayjonn Hotel guests can use the paid garage. The number of spaces is limited, so book one together with your room.
  • Parking in town – paid parking applies in the centre of Sopot, and in the season it is hard to find a free space near the beach. It is worth leaving your car in the garage and getting around on foot.
  • Electric car – check our special offers. For longer stays, we offer car charging included in the price of your stay.

No car once you are here? No problem

  • SKM commuter train – the fastest way to reach Gdańsk and Gdynia. You will find sightseeing ideas in our article The Tricity in 3 Days.
  • Car hire at reception – we work with a rental company that offers both small city cars and minibuses for larger groups.
  • A driver by the hour – a good solution for business meetings or a full-day trip around Pomerania.

Arriving at the hotel – practical information

  • Check-in from 15:00, check-out by 11:00.
  • If you arrive earlier or leave later, ask reception about luggage storage and head straight to the sea.
  • We serve breakfast from 7:00 to 10:30 – if you are leaving in the morning, you will have time to eat before your journey.
