The November long weekend in Sopot is a great idea for anyone who wants a break from everyday life without the summer crowds. The beach is empty, the pier is bathed in autumn light, and after your walk a warm sauna and an aromatic dinner await. We suggest how to arrange your time off around 11 November and how to spend those days by the sea.
When is the November long weekend in 2026?
In 2026, Poland’s National Independence Day, 11 November, falls on a Wednesday. This means that the long weekend has to be “built” with days of leave. There are two popular options:
- 11–15 November – you take Thursday and Friday off (12–13 November) and get five days of rest,
- 7–11 November – you take Monday and Tuesday off (9–10 November) and return to work on Thursday.
Both dates are popular with people heading to the sea, so it is worth booking rooms in advance – especially those with a view or a terrace.
What to do in Sopot in November?
A walk on the beach and the pier
The autumn sea has a completely different character than in summer. A wide beach, the wind and the sound of the waves are the best way to reset. A must-see is Sopot Pier – the longest wooden pier in Europe, especially beautiful at sunset.
Monciak and cafés
After your walk, warm up in one of the cafés on Monciak (Monte Cassino Street). Outside the season, the promenade is quiet and it is easier to find a free table.
A sauna after the beach
Bayjonn Hotel guests have free use of the sauna and small fitness room. After a cool day by the sea, it is the most pleasant way to warm up before dinner.
Warming Thai cuisine
Curries, soups and wok dishes from the Thai Thai restaurant taste best on November evenings. We suggest what to order in our article Thai Cuisine in Sopot.
The Tricity in one day
From Sopot, the SKM commuter train quickly takes you to Gdańsk and Gdynia. A day in Gdańsk’s Old Town or a stroll along the Gdynia boulevard makes a good addition to your trip – especially when the weather invites you to visit museums.
A 3-day plan for the long weekend
- Day 1: arrival, check-in (from 15:00), a stroll along Monciak and dinner at Thai Thai.
- Day 2: buffet breakfast (7:00–10:30), the beach and the pier, the sauna in the afternoon, dinner in the centre in the evening.
- Day 3: a trip by SKM to Gdańsk, returning for sunset by the sea.

How to prepare for November by the sea?

- Comfortable, waterproof shoes will come in handy for walks on the beach.
- If you are coming by car, book a space in the paid hotel garage in advance.
- Planning a longer stay? For stays of more than 4 nights, ask about the package with free electric car charging.
